Foundation

CitePlanet! was founded in November 2006 and became live in July 2007. CP! is coded in HTML and PHP, one of the web's most powerful server-side scripting languages today. CP! is a web database that provides students, researchers, writers, etc. with citations from published and unpublished works.

Registered users are able to upload samples from their work onto the database and link visitors back to their personal websites for further research or solicitation of the original source.

Purpose

The primary purpose for which CitePlanet! was created is research. Contributors to the website are able to give their work more exposure. Students are able to search for meaningful citations, and at the discretion of the contributor, have a direct link to research the topic further on the contributor's website.
